Stargate TCG Gatekeeper Volunteer Program
Comic Images would like to remind players of the Gatekeeper volunteer program for Stargate TCG. Gatekeepers are motivated players and tournament directors of the Stargate TCG who work closely with Comic Images to promote the game in their local community through tournaments, demonstrations, and coordination. They are the liaison between local retailers and Comic Images, making sure a healthy and active community for Stargate TCG is being maintained in the best possible manner.
To become a Stargate TCG Gatekeeper, an individual will need to first apply through the Gamers Round Table system to become a tournament director, and once approved by Comic Images, they will be flagged within the Gamers Round Table software appropriately.
All Gatekeepers will receive compensation for their efforts in the form of exclusive promo cards that will be printed with each set of Stargate TCG, avatar for the online game that identifies them as someone knowledgeable and able to answer non-official questions, special Gatekeeper t-shirt, and product available upon release that is given based on activity.
To earn these rewards, Gatekeepers will need to achieve certain goals. This is accomplished through their activity in the Gamers Round Table software and official demo listings on the Stargate TCG Web site. Gatekeepers will be rewarded every 4 months (with each new expansion) and achieve rewards on the following scale:
4 events in 4 months (events must be a combination of at least 2/3 tournaments and any number of demonstrations) : Gatekeepers will receive a Stargate TCG volunteer t-shirt (one time only), exclusive Gatekeeper promo card, 6 booster packs of the new expansion, and an avatar for the online game to distinguish them (one time only)
8 events in 4 months: Gatekeepers will receive two copies of the current exclusive Gatekeeper promo card, a full box of the current expansion, and two digital starter decks of the current expansion
12 or more events in 4 months: Gatekeepers will receive three copies of the current exclusive Gatekeeper promo card, two boxes of the current expansion, and four digital starter decks of the current expansion
If a Gatekeeper is unable to run the specified number of tournaments but runs enough demonstrations to have enough event activity to achieve levels 2 or 3 of the Gatekeeper rewards structure, they will still only earn the appropriate level of compensation based on the above breakdown. Tournaments are an important part of a TCG.
Exceptions can be made, but will be on a case-by-case basis at the sole discretion of Comic Images. If a Gatekeeper fails to run a single event in the 4-month period, they will be removed from the program (but may again enter the program at a later time).
Gatekeepers will be able to purchase Tournament Kits directly from Comic Images (in addition to retailers), but must use them for the sole purpose of running tournaments.
Premier Gatekeepers will be chosen to help run major events and assist at conventions. These Gatekeepers will be selected from those signing up to assist and will be compensated at the shows with $50 per day working at the show and additional product support at the end of the show.
