The players have been working hard in recent weeks, earning rating points and winning rewards in all sorts of Stargate TCG tournaments. All along, the designers of the game have been watching closely to see what people are playing and get feedback for upcoming sets. One thing came to their attention that had created a negative playing atmosphere and experience – the speed and efficiency of Jack O’Neill, Team Leader.
The design team has seen many players using Jack O’Neill, Team Leader (or UR Jack as he’s being called) in nearly every tournament. This does not promote a healthy environment for players. The designers have been locked away with nothing but Red Bull and Oreos working hard on a solution that would scale back the efficiency of UR Jack – but still maintain his viability and status as an ultra-rare. This is a difficult balance to achieve, but after many different iterations, the following will officially be the game new text for Jack O’Neill, Team Leader starting today (5/29/07):
“Each time Jack O'Neill earns a glyph he already has, you may look at the top two cards of your mission pile, then place them in any order on the top and/or bottom of that pile.”

The Stargate TCG Team does not make this change lightly. In the spirit of maintaining a healthy player community and robust tournament scene, changes are sometimes necessary. We will continue to monitor the tournament scene to make sure that all players are having the best possible playing experience.
